10 Essential Strategies To Save Nintendo

1. License Nintendo Exclusives For Other Consoles

We've covered enough different angles here to put Nintendo back on the right path, but if there's one surefire way to boost revenues through the roof, it's this: pour all of that juicy Nintendo goodness all over the gaming industry. There are already around 140 million Xbox 360 and PS3 owners out in the gaming wilderness, with a steadily growing number of Xbox One and PS4 gamers to add to that... that translates into a truly massive audience, and an audience that is completely untapped by Nintendo. Can you even imagine the hype tornado that would rip through the industry if a multi-platform Super Mario World game was to appear? We like to be dismissive of some of the major Nintendo exclusives - Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, etc - for being too childish and cartoony for our mature, bloodthirsty tastes, but a lot of that disapproval comes from a place of jealousy. We don't like them, because we can't have them. Obviously not everyone will want a piece of Nintendo on their PS4 or Xbox One, but a large portion of the multi-platorm hordes would love to get their hands on a new Super Smash Bros. or Luigi's Mansion. Nintendo will whine that these exclusives are the only reason that people still buy their consoles, ok, but Nintendo, seriously, are still people still buying your consoles to begin with? With Wii U sales as dismal as they are, surely it makes more sense to rake in some cash wherever an opportunity presents itself. And in Nintendo's case, no opportunity is so obvious, nor shines as brightly, as the chance to release their much loved games library on the most successful platforms in the industry. What other potential directions do you think Nintendo should take? Let us know in the comments!

Game-obsessed since the moment I could twiddle both thumbs independently. Equally enthralled by all the genres of music that your parents warned you about.
