10 Essential Third-Person Gaming Shooter Levels You Must Play

8. Death Of Hope - Transformers: War For Cybertron

With War for Cybertron developers High Moon Studios did the nigh impossible – make a good, nay great, Transformers game. And they did it through a laser focus on what makes Transformers awesome: big, shape-shifting bots beating the seven bells out of each other.

And In Death of Hope you get to tangle with one of the biggest.

Fresh from laying waste to the Autobot capital, a rampant Megatron is stopped cold in his tracks by Omega Supreme, a flying Autobot gun platform the size of a skyscraper. That’s a problem, because Omega Supreme holds the Omega Key, and you’re going to have to take it form him. Somehow.

What follows is a pulse-pounding, running battle through the ruined streets of Cybertron that has you barrelling down highways dodging mines one moment; pinned down by Autobot snipers the next; frantically trying to avoid being crushed like a bug in another; and concluding in a mano-a-mano throwdown that sees Omega crashing and burning to a Megatron at his belligerent, badass best.

For fans of Transformers this was the experience they’d always wanted. If you weren’t a fan? Well, this was the level that made you a believer.
