It might sound like a bit of a trite point, but knowing that cover-shooting is the best way to tackle almost every enemy encounter in Andromeda can save you from a bunch of headaches in the game's early hours.

Because despite the title's reliance on boosting and double-jumping around the environment outside of firefights, actually using these abilities in combat only makes you a sitting duck. So, although it's tempting to dodge your way around enemies, popping off shots as you go, being out in the open makes you an easy target for Mass Effect's super-accurate enemies.

Again, it's a bit counter-intuitive considering the game's otherwise reliance on agility, but sticking to cover in gunfights is the way forward. It might not be the most fun way to enjoy a third-person shooter these days, but taking the time to play whack-a-mole with your enemies will save you from having to reload the same sections over and over again.
