10 "Evil" Video Games Where Being Good Pays Off
4. Helping Strangers Makes Criminal Life Easier - Grand Theft Auto V
Grand Theft Auto V is the first entry in the series that allows you to play as a completely unhinged psychopath like Trevor, justifying all the horrible things you might do to Los Santos’ civilians in and out of missions.
Still, the murderous, drug-dealing, “alleged” cannibal is only a third of the playable cast, and while Franklin and Michael aren’t saints either, doing a good deed with them every now and then can actually prove quite useful.
While you’re free-roaming in San Andreas, your character can stumble upon random encounters with strangers. Usually, these NPCs will ask you to do a simple task for a meager reward, and since you play as opportunistic criminals, it seems more profitable to just kill them on the spot and pick the “prize” off their dead bodies.
However, there are two random encounters where helping the strangers in need can yield genuinely useful rewards. The first involves helping Packie from GTA IV escape a heist gone wrong, and the second requires you to rescue a woman named Taliana out of a bad car crash.
If aided, both NPCs will join your heist crew as cheap but incredibly efficient specialists, so make sure to give them a helping hand!
