9. Bushido Blade - One Hitter Quitter
Bushido Blade provided fighting fans with one of the most unique and horrifically under appreciated games of its time. Reflecting the themes of Feudal Japan was just one of the many unique characteristics that made the game an experience to remember. The unique body damage system resulted in the possibility of losing the use of your limbs, and provided some interesting gameplay once you find yourself crawling toward a seemingly inevitable death. In addition to the unique combat system, each weapon offered players a unique set of attributes such as weight and length that could drastically alter the way your character played. Mastering the skill of the samurai was key to ending matches quickly and efficiently. Once your blade sliced through your foe with precision, and the flash of blood spurted into the sky around your enemy, a feeling of greatness washed over you. The game was about finesse rather than an ongoing memorization of combo strings. If you're looking for something similar you could argue Deadliest Warrior fills the gap...but it's just not the same.
