During the entry that discussed the new instinct system, it was said that the feature doesn't simply allow players to access anywhere in the level. The instinct is limitless this time around, but it comes at a cost in other ways. Namely, there are certain characters around each mission who won't fall for your disguise and simply let you access anywhere you like. Hit the instinct button, and little white dots will be instantly visible above the heads of some characters in the level. What this means is that those people will grow suspicious of Agent 47 should he come across them. Generally, breaking the line of sight stops the suspicion from raising, but it still means players must keep their wits about them at all times. This only makes instinct even more valuable, it's crucial to orchestrating that flawless hit. In an ingenious move, IO haven't made every police officer aware of all of his colleagues on the force, just as one example. This means there's always a path that's open, it's just a matter of having good timing and paying attention. It's an altogether better system than Absolution offered. Generally, only a handful of those wearing the same outfit as 47 can see through it.
