10 Female Video Game Characters You Totally Fell In Love With

10. Elizabeth (Bioshock: Infinite)

The Bioshock series continues to divide audiences with its incredibly rewarding and thought-provoking narratives that are sometimes dragged down somewhat by very basic - and occasionally frustratingly tacked-on - combat. One identifying thing that's enamoured the series to thousands is the fantastic cast of characters each iteration always has. From maniacal overlord Andrew Ryan to the intertwined mindsets of the Lutece twins, we're always left wanting more. With Infinite's Elizabeth though, we got a fully fleshed-out 'damsel in distress' who had far more to her than just a pretty face. From the moment you pluck her out her immaculately well-kept tower prison and take off through the flying city of Columbia, you got an immediate sense that you both had to rely on each other to survive. From helping out in combat by tinkering with the environment to make objects appear and throwing you some extra ammunition or health just at the right moment, the perfect blend of gameplay and cutscene appearances made Elizabeth one of the reasons Bioshock was so many peoples' game of the year.
