10 Forgotten Gaming Franchises That Must Return At E3 2015
4. Wipeout
May 2015's PS Plus offering includes a little title called Race the Sun; a 'heart's in the right place' indie title that sees you piloting a space-age hovercraft across a huge expanse as you dodge various environmental factors and attempt to boost your time on each run. Now, what does 'hovercraft', 'boosting' and 'huge expanse' make you think of? Wipeout, hopefully - as although the series saw a pretty solid instalment on the PS Vita back in 2012, it's been completely absent from larger screens since 2008's Wipeout HD - despite the fact that everybody and their granny has a near-50" TV and a speaker setup that would blow their hair into the neighbour's kitchen if the right title came along. Like Burnout it's the simplicity of this series that makes it fly in more ways than one, and in all seriousness just look at how much people embraced the visually similar PS4 launch title Resogun; it's a dead-cert that sci-fi themed power up-filled races at a million miles an hour would be a huge system-seller all over again.
