9. A Boy And His Blob

a_boy_and_his_blob_image_8pmmroskayvefyyDeveloper: Wayforward Year: 2009 Availability: Wii Based on the NES Classic, a Boy and his Blob is a puzzle platformer for the Nintendo Wii: you take control of the boy, completely defenseless himself, but protected by his best friend the blob. By feeding him different colored jelly beans, the Boy can transform the Blob into a variety of objects to solve puzzles throughout the many levels including a ladder, a parachute and a bowling ball. The game is full of unlockable extras, as well as 40 extra challenge levels. The games excels not only with its clever level design and charming characters, but with its beautiful graphical style: every frame of animation, every bit of the level, every background: all are hand drawn. Though a Boy And His Blob seems easy on the surface, the extra challenge levels add an optional level of difficulty that can be completely skipped by younger players. http://youtu.be/2vj9YbRPu9Y
