10 Frustrating Video Game Boss Battles You Forgot You Hated

7. Dead Rising - Escaped Jeep Prisoners

Dead Rising's difficulty spikes tend to revolve around trying to get the spotty AI to be where you want it to be at the right time, as the survivors you were attempting to extract were just as likely to wander off into the distance, get left behind or get their elbows chewed off than show any sense of self-preservation.

So it was a million times more annoying then, to fight Dead Rising's own control scheme for the sake of taking down a fast-moving jeep full of gun-toting criminals. It stands to reason that the core gameplay engine in DR was built for melee attacks, with the occasional shoulder-mounted targeting section, but trying to get a bead on these guys as they circle-strafe round you was just annoying.

In the end you were treated to being able to pry the turret off the back and lay waste to anyone else in your way as recompense, but the process by which to get it only served to show how limiting the gameplay of DR was in fast-moving situations.
