CALIBR. For a game set in an apocalyptic wasteland, the original release of Fallout 3 didn't feature much in the way of survival. Sure, there was the radiation stuff, but becoming irradiated was a simple case of chowing down on some Rad-Aways. Beyond the enemies and aesthetics, it never felt like the world itself was against you. Fallout 3 Wanderer's Edition overhauls the game in a big way. Greatly increasing the challenge and depth of the gameplay, the mod turns the Capital Wasteland into a truly unforgiving place. Among other things, the mod introduces more detailed injuries, rarer loot, rebalanced gear and improved AI. Additionally, the combat elements of the game have been greatly enhanced, making Fallout 3 feel like a 'true' first-person shooter, with manual aiming far more reliable than before. You'll also deal out a lot more damage than before, although the same also applies to the enemies. This makes planning and picking your moments far more necessary than before, and punishes playstyles that centre around running in guns blazing.
