2014 may be well underway, but it's safe to say that the gaming year doesn't usually find its momentum until around March, so we're still very much in the stage of making our predictions and plotting the course for the months ahead. With the next-gen race setting off at the tail-end of 2013, this is easily going to be one of the most interesting years in gaming history, as both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 vie for that coveted first-place position, while Nintendo's Wii U will attempt to claw back some of the success they enjoyed with their previous console. As for the games themselves, there's the usual set of bright prospects, and then those we're less certain about, but as they say, the proof is in the pudding, and we'll have to see for ourselves as each game is released. Going by what we've seen and read so far, however, here are 10 big predictions for what the next 12 months has in store for gamers.
