10 Gaming Sequels We Want To See in Next Generation

1. Shenmue 3

Shenmue is by far, one of the greatest gaming franchises of all time. The adventures of Ryo Hazuki in his quest for vengeance is up there with the very best in terms of story and setting. Shenmue was released for the Sega Dreamcast to critical acclaim and sold over 1 million copies. Originally, 16 chapters were planned, spread over 6 games. The first two games were extraordinarily expensive, but this was because both games were well ahead of their time in both graphics and game play elements. Shenmue 2 ended with a cliffhanger leaving fans in limbo as to what happens next to our favourite spiky headed hero. In a recent interview, Sega associate brand manager Ben Harborne commented on the chances of seeing a HD version of Shenmue 1 & 2 saying that they might be working on them. With the release of Jet Set Radio and Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, at least Sega realise the demand for Dreamcast classics. Even more importantly, the mastermind behind the series, Yu Suzuki, spoke about his wish to make Shenmue 3. Suzuki has stated that it is possible for him to aqquire the license from Sega. If Shenmue 1&2 do indeed receive HD re-releases and sell well, Sega should start working on a brand new next gen completion to the trilogy. It would be the ultimate system seller if marketed well and fans would finally see the end of Ryo's journey. Or who knows? Maybe it could kick-start a brand new trilogy... So agree or disagree? Let me know below!
