10 Gaming Things You Did Very Differently In 2007

1. We Used To Wrap Our Xbox 360 Consoles Up In Towels

1918 had the Spanish flu, in 1665, the Great Plague of London. Both horrible pandemics that claimed the lives of many, but in 2007 we suffered the greatest calamity of all: The Red Ring of Death.

Doctors said that 'RRoD' was caused by the Xbox 360 lacking sleep, overheating and not getting enough omega 3 in its diet. You could go to a specialist but since we all knew how bad waiting times are, folks started coming up with home remedies. Of course there were plenty of old wives' tales around but one of the strangest ones actually worked.

Thanks to that hip new video site called 'The You Tube', people started sharing videos of their busted consoles wrapped up in three towels. Through some sort of linen-based miracle, most of the time the console was actually cured of the Red Ring and fans were back to abusing each other online.

...Until the console broke down again eventually. The Red Ring of Death was such a common thing that it was widely reported on the news. Luckily, hardware manufacturers learned their lesson, and since then we have never seen a gadget break down, catch fire, or explode ever again.

Good, that.
