10 Great Video Game Developers Who Haven't Made Anything Good For Years

1. Bethesda Game Studios

The absolute king of disappointment and one studio that - for me - hasn't put out anything approximating true greatness since 2011's Skyrim, is Bethesda.

Yes, Fallout 4 was great if it was your first Fallout, but considering the amount of money the studio is bringing in across its various paid mod schemes and mobile games, anything less than another ground-shaking open-world game just wouldn't do.

Then you have the likes of Fallout 76, a disastrous release from top-to-bottom that resulted in the most loyal fans being left in the dust, being the game's pre-order exclusive bundle wasn't delivered as advertised.

Add to this the painfully watered down, lowest common denominator toss like Elder Scrolls: Blades - a game riddled with timers to encourage microtransaction spending, though its core loop revolves around tapping your way through boring dungeon designs - and it truly feels like the company have hit rock bottom.

With Starfield on the horizon and Elder Scrolls VI a few years later, hopefully Bethesda's first new IP in 20 years will make a dent, because they are embodying the phrase "dropped the ball" across the board.
