10 Great Video Game Reboots (That Failed Anyway)

1. Star Wars Battlefront 2

Before everybody collectively boos this article out of existence let's just make one thing clear: Battlefront 2 was absolutely, undoubtedly, one of the most deplorable examples of greed in video game history.

Battlefront 2 was panned by consumers upon its release. Micro-transactions and awful business practices dominated the entire game from day one, and then in a surprising twist of justice and good morals that rivaled the Sonic movie redesign, everything changed.

Nowadays Battlefront 2 is near to the best possible multiplayer Star Wars experience anybody could ask for. Micro-transactions are gone, completely scrapped due to a court-mandated slap on the wrist by EA's (and everybody else's) corporate overlord, Disney. Free content is abundant and is added with alarming frequency, including fan-favourite additions such as Republic Commandos and Ewoks. There's even a surprisingly fun co-op horde mode and while it's a far cry from the original beloved games, it's still a step in the right direction.

It's a shame then that even mentioning Battlefront 2 is met with scowls and hatred from an understandably hostile crowd. It's hard to give something a second chance, but with the way this game is going maybe it's finally time to like Star Wars again.
