3. The Adventures of Batman & Robin - (1994 - SNES)
The adventure starts with a substantial amount of just
punching people in the face. I've never used the word "romp" before. I've certainly never written it, and I don't remember ever having spoken it either. I'm almost sure I've never looked at anything and even thought about "romping". However, when I went back and finally played The Adventures of Batman & Robin, I knew it could only be described as a well designed romp through the universe of Batman: The Animated Series. The SNES game, which was entirely different from the Sega title of the same name, provided an honest and faithful brawler tribute to what was arguably one of the best cartoons ever. Combat in the game was simple, yes, but the variety of gadgets and level design kept the experience interesting to the end, despite it being a single player game (and yes you had to be Batman). With epic music, graphics that maintained the look and feel of the series, a variety of villains to pound into submission, and a variety of places to do it in, The Adventures of Batman & Robin is the quintessential Batman game for anyone who's Bat Loyalties lie with the animated series. And there you have it. There isn't all that much to say about The Adventures of Batman & Robin, because there wasn't all that much to it. It was just good, straightforward brawling at its best.
