10. Halo 3
Level: The Covenant Music: One Final Effort A fantastic score to a game can turn it from just another Quake clone (or spiritual successor, depending on your viewpoint), to one of the biggest selling franchises on the Xbox 360. In this case I'm specifically talking about Halo 3, a game that, though decidedly mediocre in many other respects, won me over with this one epic piece of music. Master Chief, and several hundred marginally less effective Spartans, are being carried via dropship for the battle of their lives when this music begins. And suddenly, when those violins kick in, you really feel like a space soldier battling hordes of undead aliens in a totally credible universe.
