1. Room 302: Silent Hill Downpour

After the disappointment of Silent Hill Homecoming, my faith in the series was drastically restored in the form of Downpour. It was scarier and removed the "action adventure" vibe from Homecoming, placing more emphasis on the survival aspect- making you judge your encounters accordingly. Your weapons were susceptable to breaking too, meaning that if you found a nice, hefty axe- it wouldn't stay with you forever. As veterans of the series will no doubt know- every Silent Hill game has been loaded with Easter eggs. Silent Hill 1 had the street names named after famous horror authors and Silent Hill 2 had the dog key for the secret Dog ending. It was these small inclusions that made you smile in an otherwise frightening Otherworld. Silent Hill Downpour was no exception to the Easter egg tradition of the series. When you're looking around Lansdale Avenue you'll discover an emergency ladder- climb this and you'll find yourself in the infamous Room 302 which you'll remember from Silent Hill The Room- in which poor Henry Townsend ended up trapped in. His apartment is exactly the same, and anyone who has played The Room will remember how downright spooky it was the first time you visited. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1FVYAlPS9Y Have we missed any great Easter Eggs from 2012?
