10 ‘Happy’ Video Games With Dark Secrets

1. Hearing Your Own Name In Black And White 2

Black and White 2 may give the player the freedom to act as a benevolent or tyrannical deity but on the whole everything is light-hearted. The tribe who worship you are a simple bunch, many of whom have issues which they need you €“ their God €“ to help them with. You also have a powerful yet cute creature which slowly grows as your tribe expands and which can be trained to either assist the growth of your empire or to be the spearhead of your army. However, some less noticeable elements in the game mean that the god-simulator is far darker than it first appears. Every time one of your villagers dies you'll hear a haunting voice whispering €˜deeeeathhhhh€™. What€™s even more creepy is that Black and White 2 can integrate itself with your email client and extract not only your name but the name of your friends and assign them to villagers. If your name appears on a list of pre-recorded sound-bites in the game€™s files it will play your name at random intervals (in the same whispered voice as €˜death€™) to unsettle you. Not only is it incredibly creepy hearing your name in this eerie voice but the idea of Black and White 2 invading your computer in this manner is a dark thought. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPmU-PaKZf0#t=23
