10 Hardest Bosses In Final Fantasy History

9. Kefka - Final Fantasy VI

Like all of the final bosses in Final Fantasy, what makes Kefka so hard is that he lasts a long ass time and hits like a freight train to whom you owe quite a bit of money. With four phases, each tougher and beefier than most of the other bosses in this game, getting to Kefka's final form is a gruelling test of skill and party layout all on its own.

Then the final form comes out and the real fight begins. Kefka kicks off the fight by reducing your party's HP to 1, sending you into a mad scramble to heal up while he comes at you with -aga level skills and the brutal Havoc Wing. And just when you're starting to wear him down, you then have to rush to defend against and heal from Forsaken, the strongest magical attack in the entire game.

Kefka is a relatively straightforward fight, in the same way that running up a steep hill is technically "straightforward". Simple in concept, gruelling in execution.
