10 Hardest Bosses Of The Decade (So Far)
5. The Lord of Doors - Death's Door
In Death's Door, you play as a crow who's tasked with reaping souls. The isometric title concludes with a confrontation with The Lord of Doors, an entity who's closed the door to his own mortality. Intending to live forever, the defiant warrior informs the Reaper he has no intention of going quietly.
Our heroic executioner must then endure a multi-phase skirmish, involving speedy obstacle courses and duels with the enigmatic Lord. If you die during the first seven-stages, you have to start from the beginning.
Luckily, there's a checkpoint before tussling with The Lord of Doors one last time. Unfortunately, the final final battle is harder than the previous seven phases combined.
The Lord of Doors will counter any long-distant attack with a devastating assault. As a result, the only way to cause damage is to stay close to him, leaving you permanently vulnerable.
The Lord has a lot of health, compelling you to wail on him every chance you got. But the more time you spend hacking away at him, the more likely he'll pummel you into the ground. Four hits is all it takes to kill you, so making it out alive isn't easy, especially when this boss calls upon beasts, homes in on your position, slows down time, creates shockwaves, and unleashes targeting lasers.
It was obvious The Lord of Doors wouldn't go down without a fight, but nobody expected him to be this stubborn.
