10 Hardest Bosses Of The Decade (So Far)
4. Erlang, The Sacred Divinity - Black Myth: Wukong
Any Black Myth: Wukong player knows that unlocking the secret duel with Erlang is no easy task. What's worse is that many players will regret unlocking it, since they'll be forced to take part in a staggeringly one-sided brawl.
Erlang has a nasty habit of hitting The Destined One with a one-two attack, like when he shoots a laser across the battlefield then follows it up with a wide sword slash. You'll be so hyper-focused with avoiding the first move, you won't be concentrating when the warrior god comes at you with the second one.
If that sounds unfair, he also cuts off our hero's combos with no warning and coats his sword with fire to chip off extra damage.
As tough as this is, the true fight begins once Erlang's blade is shattered. In the second phase, the three-eyed king calls upon a heavenly sword that's difficult to dodge, especially when he transforms it into a whip and lashes it around the arena at breakneck speed.
Bombarding him from a distance is a big no-no, since the ancient deity will counter with lightning arrows or firebreath. Spells aren't much help, since Erlang can counter most of them. For example, performing a transformation is redundant since he'll retaliate with his own transformation or remove your ability to use that technique.
Also, this confrontation is a slog, since you can't do any serious damage unless Erlang's shield gauge has been depleted. On top of that, Erlang is an expert at parrying, meaning only some of your attacks will hit him, dragging out this showdown exponentially.
He mightn't look like much, but Erlang provides a challenge unlike anything else in the game.
