10 Most Harrowing Decisions We Made To Progress In Video Games
5. Saving Ashley Or Kaiden - Mass Effect
Okay hands up, who saved Kaiden? Me neither. The thing is, back when I first played Mass Effect, I (and clearly thousands of others looking at the many pieces that have been written about this scene) instantly gravitated to 'The Hot Chick', in a rather Leonard n' Penny kind of way. Thus when Kaiden was determined to stay with a bomb that was about to go off, and Ashley required help elsewhere, the decision should have been obvious. I must say though when this happened in the game, I did stop to wonder who's life I was condemning, and I also pondered whether or not Bioware would be bringing anybody back later in the game (this was in a pre-Mass Effect 3 Ending world of hopes and dreams, and it was a large-scale sci-fi fantasy). In the end though we all went with Ashley, only to get snubbed in Mass Effect 2 when we all failed to call her back whilst doing the whole Jesus Christ thing.
