10 Harshest Ways Video Games Punish You For Rage Quitting

6. Street Fighter V Implements Full Day Bans After Three Strikes

Mortal Kombat
Capcom

Since Street Fighter V launched, Capcom has constantly tightened the noose on players who rage quit during online matches, getting more and more extreme with the punishments they decide to dole out. Now, it's gotten to the point where the devs don't mess around or mince words, implementing an automated penalty system that immediately punishes serial quitters.

Although you can disconnect from a game once or twice without suffering any real consequences (in an attempt to lessen the burden for people who genuinely lose connection during a fight), after leaving a match early for the third time, players will be hit with a 24 hour online ban and 1000 League Points deducted from their profile.

Losing the League Points is a major hit to your standing in the game, but it's the full day time out from multiplayer that's the real kicker. Granted, there's only a two-hour window for the three disconnects to happen, so whoever receives the ban probably deserves it.
