10 Hated Video Game Sequels You Should Play

4. Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Call of Duty games always have their critics, but it's rare for one to be outright hated - at least by the casuals as well as the hardcore fans. The one exception to this is Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which made all the wrong headlines when it was first announced for having some of the most disliked trailers ever for a blockbuster release.

However, it was less about the quality of the game or trailers themselves, but rather the general direction of the whole franchise. By this point, COD had transformed itself into a futuristic shooter series, with double jumps and wall running and sci-fi weaponry. Despite having three sub-franchises, Activision refused to provide players with a classic boots-on-the-ground experience.

It's a shame that this disgruntlement was taken out on Infinite Warfare because, especially when it comes to the campaign, it's a truly noteworthy entry into the series. With memorable characters, heartbreaking deaths and gameplay that added layers to the regular twitchy combat, Infinite Warfare was doing anything but resting on its laurels.

While its multiplayer suite is redundant now, it's still worth picking up to play Call of Duty's most underrated campaign.
