10 Hated Video Games That Got REALLY Good
1. Assassin's Creed Unity (2014)
By 2014, it was clear Ubisoft were hellbent on pumping out an Assassin's Creed title every single year, and this rushed schedule would eventually catch up with that year's release: Unity.
The game was absolutely riddled with various glitches and bugs that, coupled with the overall same-y feel of the gameplay, led to Ubisoft having to issue a public apology and the Dead Kings story expansion for free as compensation for those who had to endure its early days.
But, in the time since the game's initial release, Ubisoft have remained committed in their efforts to try and make Unity as solid as possible.
Not only did Ubisoft hand out copies of the Dead Kings (a compelling story in itself) for free, but a whole slew of patches and updates have been given to Unity since its launch. These fixes now mean the game runs without a hitch, allowing players to focus on the compelling missions, stunning Parisian setting, and combat mechanics that stack up just as well, if not better, against its successors.
In fact, rumour has it that the upcoming Assassins Creed: Mirage is set to take some pretty heavy inspiration from Unity as Ubisoft look to revert back to their roots.
