10 "Hated" Video Games You Should Play In 2019
3. Street Fighter V
At its core, Street Fighter V still holds its own in the beat 'em up market, regularly featuring in big tournaments like EVO and Capcom Pro Tour. Unfortunately, at its launch it was so bare bones, it made Dhalsim look fat.
Admittedly put out in time for EVO, it was an unfinished mess. Focusing on the online component, there was no story mode, a lot of fighters hidden behind paywalls and seasons, and generally being seen as a half-finished product. With that came reports of online issues, and lack of content to tide people over, not helped by being PlayStation exclusive either.
Now that the dust is settled, SFV has finally caught up and hit its stride in the competitive fighting world. A story mode, as well as more single player arcade features, and a full roster of fighters old and new make it a worthy title. It's no USF4 of the past, but it's one of the top fighting games of this generation.
