Assassin's Creed 3's protagonist, Connor, is the son of a British Templar and an Iroquois woman. Growing up in his mother's village, it's obvious that the young assassin would be raised following the traditions and rules of his people, one of which is not to waste the body of a hunted animal.

Now, it may come off as a shock to some people, but the game actually makes this a point with a very peculiar mechanic that punishes people for rampantly killing America's critters.

In most Assassin's Creed games, you get desynchronized when your character dies, fails to complete an objective, or kills too many innocent people.

However, in Assassin's Creed 3 there is a secret fourth game over that you can trigger while hunting.

If you kill too many animals without skinning them for materials, the game will actually desynchronize, chastising you for breaking one of the core beliefs of Connor's culture.

The game over is an interesting punishment that shows the developers' attention to detail, and the fact that they didn't want to treat Connor's upbringing as simple flavor.

It's the kind of consistency you'd wish to see more of in modern Ubisoft releases.
