10 Horror Video Game Easter Eggs You Need To See For Yourself

4. Resident Evil 2 - "Wellcome Leon"

Another very not scary easter egg in an otherwise intense and spooky game, Resident Evil 2. The best kinds of easter eggs are ones with depth, perhaps one you look at and don’t figure out straight away or, in the case of Resident Evil 2, a reference spanning back to a mistake made in the original game over 20 years ago.

This easter egg takes place in the office of Resident Evil 2’s police station, you know, the one with the name combination puzzle, opposite the locker room. You’ll see a sign welcoming Leon to the force, as this is, of course, his first day.

However, there’s a gap in welcome, between the L and the C, hinting at something.

Below the sign on the left you’ll see a spare L, but why? Understandably, most players will have no idea but it's actually because, back in the original version, fans with a keen eye noticed that the sign read, “Wellcome Leon”, clearly being some kind of translation error.

It’s a clever easter egg, not too in your face and acting as a nice little nod to anyone in the know.
