6. Boundless (PC, PS4)

This one's probably the biggest mystery on the list, and there's a good chance you haven't heard much about the quirky open-world sandbox game that'll be a full cross-platform experience for the PS4 and PC. Boundless is set in a beautiful universe that has hints of Minecraft with its pixel-blocky buildings and flora, but is otherwise filled with incredible vistas, pretty pastel colours, and sentient floating mega-structures called Titans that stalk the land. For your part, you pick one of several classes of uniquely-designed monsters, and team up with others to take down the Titans, gather resources, and explore the gorgeous and unique world. There will also be city-building mechanics, opportunities to seize your own bits of land, and even to build a world of your own that you can control access to (which is gained by portals scattered around the game universe). The variety and imagination we've seen in the landscapes and creatures of Boundless so far looks incredible, and promises an open-world experience that's going to offer something a little bit different...
