10 Hotly Anticipated RPGs That'll Blow You Away In 2016

5. Mass Effect: Andromeda

Yes, yes, you're probably still mad at the ending of Mass Effect 3, and told yourself that on principle you'd never buy another game in the series again. But when Andromeda, the latest instalment in the space-faring RPG saga was announced, did you not tingle with excitement about how awesome a current-gen Mass Effect could be? From what little has been revealed of the game, Andromeda looks absolutely stunning. The teaser trailer shows concept art for several stunning locations, including a Monument Valley-esque desertscape, a volcanic wasteland, and a lush mountainous region. We also saw a six-wheeled Mako buggy driving across a desert landscape, The game will no longer put you in control of Commander Shepard, nor feature any of his/her memorable allies, but developer BioWare said that the story will pay homageto its predecessors. Avoiding the pitfalls of that conclusion to Mass Effect 3, the game is set in a whole new region of space, which opens up pretty much endless possibilities for what we can expect (hint to prospective game developers: if you want to create a series that can go on forever and avoid dead-end plots, just make sure space travel is possible in it). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG8V9dRqSsw Aside from the little difference of being set in a different galaxy, Andromeda will be similar to previous Mass Effect games, with a heavy focus on story, character interactions and - of course - romantic relationships. Based on Dragon Age Inquisition, which used the same engine as Mass Effect 3, expect Andromeda to have a much more open world (open universe?) than its predecessors.
