10 Hugely Beloved Video Game Sidekicks - Ranked From Worst To Best

4. Dogmeat (Fallout)

Not everyone is a dog person, but everybody is a Dogmeat person. The Wastelands in Fallout are an incredibly lonely and unforgiving place – but your faithful hound from the series is virtually the perfect companion throughout your time wandering the post-apocalyptic environment, since he doesn’t eat much or talk back. In fact, that’s probably why he’s one of the few mainstays of the whole series.

He’s stood by the side of Vault Dwellers, Mutants, and Couriers alike, and he’s always only too eager to charge into battle at any time to protect his beloved master and friend. Dogmeat has nought but scorn for the size, shape and power of the enemies facing you, even if they’re armed to the teeth with plasma rifles. He’s willing to attack anyone, anywhere and at any time if they dare to cross you.

Come to think of it, his tendency to attack first and ask questions later is probably why he died so often.
