10 Hugely Promising Upcoming Video Games You Won't Want To Miss
1. Batman: The Telltale Series
What Is It?
Telltale apply their patented point n' click formula to the Batverse. For the first time in gaming, Bruce Wayne is just as important to a Batman story as the Caped Crusader himself, and although this is a Batman-centric product, there's nowhere near enough praise being sent Telltale's way for such an exemplary story and overall narrative design.
Why Should I Care?
So far, we're two episodes in out of five, but it's enough to say that this is one of the most original and unique Batman stories in years. For once there's no Joker in sight, as by tackling an aspect of Batman's lore that's usually ironclad (the death of his parents, and what happened on that night) it opens up the ramifications of why Bruce does what he does, who the Waynes were in reflection to the citizens of Gotham, and how Batman fits into a world in light of everything that emerges.
To say more would be to give away some of the coolest surprises, but Telltale have taken some major risks with chunks of the fiction that hardly any other creatives ever go near.
As a Batman fan, I found myself blown away by how these first two episodes have panned out, and I encourage anyone with even a passing interest in the Dark Knight to give them a shot.
