10 Iconic Video Games You Didn't Realise Also Have TV Shows

9. Double Dragon

Renowned beat 'em up Double Dragon was first seen as a coin-operated arcade machine in 1987. Thanks to the crazy success of the franchise, it has since been seen on pretty much every console you can shake a stick at. Following the story of twin brothers (who don't look much alike) Billy and Jimmy Lee, they face off against various gangs who, well, probably deserve it or something.

A year after the release of the fourth Double Dragon - imaginatively titled Super Double Dragon - on the SNES, the morning cartoon slot was calling and the Double Dragon brothers were there to take the call. DiC Animation were on hand to make it with Scott McNeil (Wolverine from X-Men Evolution) and Michael Donovan (Conan from Conan The Adventurer) playing the twins.

The show separated the protagonists at birth, Billy having been raised by elderly master The Oldest Dragon and Jimmy was brought up the evil Shadow Master to be his second in command. That's right, it's a story of betrayal! At least for the first episode... following which Jimmy joins his brother as a Dragon Warrior after being betrayed by his foster dad.
