10 Incredible RPGs You Probably Missed

4. Thousand Arms (Playstation)

7e956f6b-65c0-40a3-b663-c1009d0f54fe Of course I had to eventually include a steampunk RPG as well, and Thousand Arms comes in as a bit of an oddity considering it is a rather bizarre combination of a dating sim and RPG. Well it was bizarre at the time, these days it seems most RPGs have dating aspects, like Knights of the Old Republic. This one is found for the Playstation once more and offers some great female personalities, which is to be expected for a dating sim type RPG. The best part of this game though is the world you are in, with fusing magic and tech to create things like robots you'll battle and a more unusual steampunk world. Really this game was far ahead of it€™s time, which is probably why it didn€™t receive as much praise as it should have. It offered great dialogue options (because of the dating sim aspect) while also bringing about some great animations. If you enjoyed games like KOTOR, you are bound to love this one, but if you are more for just the RPG elements I€™d avoid it as you miss out on a lot of the game by not participating in the €˜dating aspect€™, especially in the department for dialogue options as that was where most of them were. If only this game had learned to add dialogue options for the story, we would have ended up with a truly unique game that probably still would have been over-looked since it came way before any of the great FPS or roleplaying games we know of today. Other than the dating sim aspect though you can see a lot of design similar to the concept of Final Fantasy RPGs, which is what became a main concern when the game came out (that and dating games weren't taken as great anywhere other than Japan). But I think because this game pulls from similarities to Final Fantasy it is an incredibly easy game to just fall into quickly if you ever played RPGs before.
