1. Panzer Dragoon Saga
While the sequel Panzer Dragoon Orta rocked up on the Xbox and did indeed make the jump to HD in 2011, the height of the series was this RPG game. Ditching the on-rails shooting for something more akin to Final Fantasy (but on a dragon) was a bold choice, but this ended up being probably the best game on Sega's ugly black box. The plot was fairly standard, you control a chap named Edge who has to free to world from the will of the Ancients. Whatever, basically it was an excuse to fly around on a laser shooting dragon. With free roaming via dragon or on foot, it was a hugely ambitious game and the developers pulled it off brilliantly.
