9. Sega Worldwide Soccer '98
A good part of the reason for some of my shoddy home work in 1997 was down to this game, arcade football at its purest (until ISS got into it's stride anyway), Sega Worldwide Soccer '98. It was a wonderful game back in the days when nobody cared about how realistically the ball rolled along the perfectly recreated grass and passing moves were not full of intricate one-twos but more like a hoof from the back and then one player beating an entire defence before slamming the ball past an utterly useless goalie. Don't get me wrong, I love my in depth football simulations, but sometimes I want to run from one end of the pitch to the other with almost no obstruction. Games between me and my friends routinely ended with scores in double figues, but damn it was good fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SY90Kg580UI
