10 Incredible Star Wars Video Games That Desperately Deserve Sequels
3. Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Starting with Dark Forces in 1995, the Jedi Knight series was arguably the vanguard of all Star Wars video-games way up until Jedi Academy landed in 2003. Though an exemplarily game in every regard, plans for another sequel were shelved early on in development, though no one at Lucasarts seems to know why. Indeed, Jedi Academy itself is in many people's eyes the definitive Jedi title. Whilst I'd be inclined to disagree with that statement in favour of giving Jedi Outcast the moniker, Academy certainly held the widest amount of features in the series yet. Players could customise everything from their Apprentice's appearance to their lightsaber style and combat choice. It was a huge level of personalisation that has yet to be eclipsed by other Star Wars titles since, and would undeniably work up a treat if a sequel was put in the works. Gameplay too was fairly impeccable, flawlessly reproducing lightsaber combat from the films and in turn producing some of the best gameplay to have been featured in a Star Wars title ever. With other games the weapon has often felt weak or muted, almost like an oversized baseball bat, which only gives further cause for the franchise to get reanimated.
