Horizon Zero Dawn is a wonderful game in many regards, but the topic of collectibles is one that likely raises question marks for many.

As so many collectibles are so hidden throughout the landscape, it's easy to miss massive portions of them. Even when you're right next to them, unless you're using your Focus or directly looking at them you can still miss stuff. This leaves you to choose between backtracking for everything or just downright giving up.

This would explain why only fifty percent of players have gotten the achievement for collecting a single Banuk trophy. They're rare, sure - as there are only six in the game - but they're at points that, in theory, should make them easy to nab if you're keeping a peeper open for collectible goods.

But, arguably because the game is so much fun, you often aren't. You're more focused on seeing the plot unfold, or fighting more electronic sabretooths than being concerned with whether a small handmade figurine is nearby.
