Glitches are a fairly common occurrence in video games, often forcing games to crash unexpectedly, and sometimes rendering them entirely unplayable for long periods of time. In fact, glitches have been so prevalent at this point that they€™re almost expected, tolerated by players as an unavoidable nuisance intrinsically tied to the medium of video games. And that's why we get broken game releases. Some companies, such as Bethesda Softworks have been getting away with releasing buggy, broken games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim for years, cultivating quite the reputation in the process for their slapdash, unrefined approach to game development. Yet, they get somewhat of a free pass €“ providing they distribute a patch or two and repair the damage. With that said, though people are quite accepting of glitches, there have been some notable exceptions throughout the years that have been too detrimental for anyone to ignore. These glitches have either broken certain aspects of beloved games, completely spoilt the player€™s immersion or just wreaked havoc with the game€™s mechanics and functionality. Though glitches can be pretty hilarious at times €“ sometimes even actively improving a lifeless game with random shenanigans €“ these 10 examples prove that sometimes a glitch can just outright ruin an otherwise awesome game.
