10 Infamous Video Game Scandals

1. GTA San Andreas' Hot Coffee Mod

Though Grand Theft Auto and controversy go together like cookies and cream, San Andreas managed to out-WTF every other game in the series with its infamous "Hot Coffee" mod, a hidden mini-game which some clever PC gamers discovered and managed to activate, in which players must control CJ as he has sex with a woman. Rockstar initially claimed that the mod was a result of players severely altering the game's code, though when players also found the code embedded in the console versions of the game, a red-faced Rockstar were forced to admit that, in fact, they had put it there. Prominent politicians such as Hilary Clinton spoke out against the game, while many accused Rockstar of hiding the content in an attempt to get the game a more lenient censorship rating, which naturally didn't work, and Rockstar were forced to re-release the game with the offending content removed to secure the M rating they wanted. With protests occurring outside Rockstar's headquarters, it goes without saying that this was the most prolific, outrageous, and totally hilarious video game scandal of all time. I can't drink a hot coffee without thinking of CJ pumping away at a block of pixels. Which video game scandal infuriates you the most? Let us know in the comments below.
