10 Infuriating Levels That Almost Derailed Great Games

1. GTA: San Andreas (Xbox, PS2, PC) €“ Learning to Fly

http://youtu.be/KGohCAGpPYw Who doesn€™t love GTA: San Andreas? For me it€™s definitely one of the best GTA games in the series so far. San Andreas makes missions out of almost every criminally motivated task you can dream up; from garbing yourself in gang colours to tagging up neighbourhoods to committing armed theft and senseless murder. And for the most part, these tasks are unbelievably enjoyable. Except there€™s one that really isn€™t. Learning to Fly is notorious for being perhaps one of the most frustrating missions in the entire GTA series. Not only is flying actually pretty difficult (particularly in the god awful plane you€™re expected to complete this mission in), the level is structured into separate segments, basically meaning that if you f**k up at all you€™ll have to go all the way back and begin. Essentially it€™s an extended tutorial, but I don€™t remember a tutorial ever being this difficult, boring and ultimately frustrating. Don€™t let the guy in the above vid fool you; this mission robbed me of so many hours that by the time I€™d beat it, puberty had come and gone. And I was still a virgin. So there are our ten terrible levels which almost derailed the games they were in. Disagree? Any to add? Do let us in on it!
