10 Injustice Super Moves Taken Straight From The Comics
5. Black Adam - Shazam!: The New Beginning
An obscure reference even for committed comics fans, Black Adam's finisher - where the villain beats his opponent into and out of the top of a pyramid - is actually based on the version of Black Adam's backstory that we see in Shazam!: The New Beginning.
The final issue of the four-part series shows us the defining moment that the character turned evil, going from helping the Egyptians build a pyramid to breaking one of the monuments to pieces and then killing the Pharoah to try and take his place.
It's a tasty little callback to a fairly overlooked moment in the character's arc, and manages to incorporate beating someone up with a pyramid surprisingly well, which you'd really think would be simply impossible. While this is perhaps the most sneaky reference to the comics in all of Injustice, it almost suits that title - as nobody is going to pass up punching someone into a historic landmark, whether they know the backstory or not.
