10 Insane Alternate Video Game Sequels You Won't Believe Got Cancelled

5. Saints Row: Money Shot - The Weirdest Spin-Off Ever

In a way, the Saints Row series has always been defined by its ongoing identity crisis. What started as a GTA clone morphed into something that pushed the wacky sandbox mayhem Rockstar eventually moved away from, and then just jumped the shark entirely by giving its heroes straight-up superpowers.

In between all of this, a download-only spin-off was conceived, set between the events of the second and third game. Money Shot would have been essentially one arcade mini-game stretched out to full length, swapping the open-world elements for a level-based, point scoring assassination game.

The idea was that you'd play as Cypher, who'd take out targets from the shadows via a bullet that you controlled mid-flight. You'd guide it around the city, avoiding people on the way and hitting targets until you found your victim.

It was pretty much completed, but a look at the finished gameplay makes it clear why it was shelved indefinitely.
