10 Insanely Hard Achievements Hidden Inside Easy Games
4. The Prairie King - Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley is the king of cozy farming sims. The game features more challenging gameplay elements like dungeon crawling, but even if you don’t have any skill, there is no penalty to "dying,” and everyone, even the most casual players, can eventually complete every single task in the game.
Well, except for getting the Prairie King achievement. That one takes skill, and a lot of it.
The Prairie King achievement is awarded for completing the minigame “The Journey of the Prairie King,” located in the back of the town saloon. The game is an arcade shoot ‘em up where you have to survive waves of enemies in order to progress to the next level.
Although the minigame is a minor feature, it’s actually incredibly complex, featuring thirteen levels and three boss fights.
The difficulty of the game spikes up with each new stage, so much so that without mastering the mechanics, you may not even be able to reach the final boss, let alone survive his attacks and the constant onslaught of enemies surrounding you.
It’s a radically different experience from the rest of Stardew Valley, which could even make a veteran arcade player pull their hair out!
