4. Crossbow - Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Assassin's Creed II's pistol was pretty overpowered, allowing you to kill enemies with one shot from long range after a brief charge time. It was partially balanced by being so loud that it would immediately draw the attention every guard in the area, but in that time you could still often get off a couple extra shots.
So it made sense that in the follow-up, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the developers decided to nerf it just a bit... and then introduce an even more overpowered weapon: the crossbow.
Not only can the crossbow one-hit kill enemies just as easily as the pistol, but it does so at a much longer range, without making a sound. Like the pistol it needs time to charge, by way of a reload animation. But since it's silent, you don't really need to worry about that in the heat of combat.
You can obtain the crossbow very early in the game, basically eliminating any reason to approach stealth any other way. Find a roof, clear out every guard you can see, and skip your way to your primary target.
Let's just hope the Templars never discover this incredible technology.
