10 Lengthy Video Games That Were Absolutely Obliterated By Speedrunners
2. Fallout Series
With its deep lore and sublime role-playing systems, the Fallout franchise, at least up until 2015, offered an extensively immersive experience in post-nuclear America.
On the whole, the role-playing genre is one that compels the player to take their time with it, to become immersed in the world and characters. Whether it was searching for the water chip in the original Fallout, tackling the Enclave in 2 and searching for your father in 3, each game in the series was designed to last hundreds of hours.
Unless of course, you're a dedicated speed-runner. Requiring the knowledge of each release inside and out, blasting through not one game but four of them is a daunting challenge. Each game requires a different set of tactics to succeed; the older isometric entries involves exploiting the S.P.E.C.I.A.L system to avoid combat while the newer 3D releases feature a ton of glitching through the terrain to reach the end quickly.
