5. Panasonic Q
Going into the sixth generation of games consoles, the GameCube had one distinct disadvantage: it didn't have a built-in DVD player. Most home consoles were just starting to transition into the all-in-one entertainment boxes we see today, while the GameCube continued to focus entirely on the gaming. The Panasonic Q was an attempt to transform the GameCube into more of a general entertainment hub (with DVD playback support.) It looked great, in an early '00s way, with its steel case and sophisticated, dark grey colours that contrasted heavily with the original console's bright blue. Thanks to poor sales, it was never released outside of Japan, and goes for about half a grand on eBay.
