10 Long Video Games That Fall Apart At The VERY End

6. Mad Max

red dead redemption 2

Mad Max had the misfortune of being released on the same day as Metal Gear Solid V and as such, was a bit overshadowed. Which is a shame, as it's actually quite a decent romp through the wastelands with some solid vehicular combat.

And, taken as an individual experience rather than movie comparison, tells a decent story of Max Rockatansky and his quest for survival. Ambushed at the start by one of Immortan Joe's kids, Max is left for dead, only to be driven by his quest to build a car... to also be driven.

For the most part, it's an entertaining action-adventure through an open world filled with kooky characters (which, if you've seen the films, keeps in line with them). There are even glimmers of hope that Max will find redemption, or at least somewhere better to live than the wastleland.

Which is why it's a letdown in the finale that, after a somewhat uninspiring battle with Scrotus that Max gets his dream ride and... that's about it.

The endgame is just "Max has a better car now" and that's it. Guess it's reminiscent of the film's unhappy ending(s) in that regard.
